AD Architecture Ltd is a medium sized architectural practice, formed in June 2008 by merger of two well established designers: Peter Davis and Jon Ambler.
We are based on the Kapiti Coast which gives us the flexibility to work on varied projects, both within our local community and around New Zealand.
Our domestic work encompasses alterations and additions, new homes, baches and holiday homes, multi unit developments and retirement villas. Our commercial projects include nurse care facilities, school and childcare projects, light commercial and retail. For every project we give specific consideration to the client’s brief and budget, and the particular requirements of the project to produce a unique and appropriate solution. AD Architecture Ltd aspire to create buildings that meet and exceed client’s expectations; are aesthetically interesting; are harmonious within their setting; are cost effective; meet all relevant codes and are energy efficient.
We use Auto-Desk Revit architectural CAD software to produce high quality drawings, and along with other specialised software, we believe we have an excellent suite of tools to successfully manage projects.
Since first entering the prestigious ADNZ design awards in 2001, we have consistently received recognition in both the regional and National Awards.
Our projects also regularly feature in the Registered Master Builders Awards.

Waa-Rata
Waa Rata is a beautiful property, located at the head of the Ngatiawa Valley on the Kapiti Coast. It has expansive views to the west and backs onto the Taraura Forest Park to the east.
The house design was required to fit into the landscape, take in the magnificent views, be affordable to build, met the clients spatial needs (with a view to future expansion options), and have a sustainable approach to use of materials, water use and energy consumption.

Ferndale DRH Showhome
This David Reid Home show home, designed by AD Architecture, meets or exceeds all of the stringent sustainability features required by the Ferndale Design Guide and beautifully fits into the landscape.
The design has three bedrooms with generous living areas and a striking transition space between the open space dining/kitchen area and the outdoor space which faces the local pond. The house features numerous sustainability features which are cleverly integrated into the design. On the New Zealand Green Home Scheme rating system the home scored an outstanding 125 points reflecting its serious sustainability credentials.

Nelson Residence
Graeme & Jacqui Nelson wanted to build a contemporary house suitable for their busy lifestyle with 3 teenage children. This building ideally suits their requirements and makes excellent use of its natural surroundings. The building is facing directly North to let maximum daylight into the main living areas and kitchen. Also other design features make optimum use of the sun. Large windows on East and the West wall create good natural cross-flow ventilation in summer.
