Government Funding
A 2% gap in your insulation can lead to a 20% loss in heat:
Heat rises so insulating the ceiling is the best energy saving thing you can do.
Heatpumps heat in winter and Cool in summer:
A heatpump is energy efficient because for every 1kW in electricity they use, they deliver 3kW of heating or cooling
Save up to $1300* on the cost of Insulating your home
Right House are an approved ENERGYWISE TM Warm Up New Zealand: Heat Smart programme service provider and can help homeowners and landlords install insulation to achieve warmer, drier and healthier New Zealand homes.
Better insulation means a warmer, drier and more comfortable home that should be easier and cheaper to heat. It's especially important for people with respiratory illness or other conditions bought on by living in cold, damp house.
And matching up a well-insulated home with a clean, efficient heating system means even greater comfort that costs you and the environment less.
How much funding is available?
The ENERGYWISE TM Insulation programme funds 33% of the cost* of installing ceiling and underfloor insulation up to a maximum of $1300 incl GST.
The insulation must be installed by an approved Service Provider like Right House.
What if I am a Community Services Card holder?
There is different funding available for Landlords whose tenants have CSCs, or homeowners with CSCs. In some areas its possible to get 60% off the total cost of insulation and its installation. This funding is limited so talk with the Right House team to see if its available to you.
How much will it cost to Insulate my home?
The average cost for installing both ceiling and underfloor insulation in an average-sized (approx 100 sqm) New Zealand home is about $3500, incl GST. In this example the cost to the home owner is only $2345.00 as the Government funding will pay 33% or $1155.*
A written quote will be provided when we visit your home and measure the ceiling and/or underfloor areas.
Do I have to get my ceiling AND underfloor insulated at the same time?

What is EECA?
EECA (Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority) is a Government organisation designed to encourage, support and promote energy efficiency.
In July 2009 it launched its "Warm Up New Zealand: Heat Smart" programme. It is an insulation and clean heating programme that will give more New Zealander's than ever before the opportunity to make their homes warmer, drier and more energy efficient. It aims to retrofit more than 188,500 New Zealand homes over the next four years.
Funding for general heating is no longer available through EECA. However, in some regions there are clean heating grants available to replace non-compliant heating devices. Contact the Right House team for more information about 'clean air funding'.
